WHAT'S HAPPENING?
Help Celebrate Phyllis’ 90th Birthday
Join us for a birthday celebration in the Fellowship Hall honoring Phyllis Zwick’s 90th birthday on November 17 following worship. Come wish her well in the coming year and enjoy a piece of cake!
Saint Augustine Pilgrimage – SAVE THE DATE – January 25-26
Join us for a powerful two-day pilgrimage in historic St. Augustine, focused on antiracism as an essential part of Christian discipleship. Led by Revs. David Williamson and Laverne March, this pilgrimage will invite participants to confront and address various forms of exclusion. Through key scriptures, group learning, and personal reflection, we will work together to break down walls of division and create strategies for change within ourselves, our church, and our community. We will also experience the beautiful St. Augustine Night of Lights on Saturday evening. Join us as we seek to embody the peace and unity of Christ in a divided world. Pricing and reservations are coming soon.
A Very Pumpkin Patch Thank You
We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who dedicated their time and energy to making our pumpkin patch a success despite Aunt Helene and Uncle Milton! Your warmth, enthusiasm, and hard work brought joy back to our community and made our church a place of respite during this challenging season. Whether you greeted guests, helped with setup, or shared a smile, your efforts truly reflected God's love. Thank you for making a difference and for being such a wonderful part of this ministry!
The Free Little Pantries Need Our Help!
The need for food assistance is significantly greater than our ability to supply it. You are likely familiar with the types of foods that are most helpful—remember that those experiencing homelessness often cannot cook. Therefore, donations of pop-top cans of meat or protein items, peanut butter or cheese crackers, breakfast bars (both soft and crunchy), trail mix, and fruit cups or cans are especially invaluable.
Additionally, purchasing items on a "Buy One, Get One" (BOGO) basis can help maximize your contributions. According to the National Alliance to End Homelessness, the St. Petersburg area has one of the highest homeless rates in the nation, with approximately 16,000 individuals affected, including about one-fifth who are children.
Need to Talk?
We all experience trauma in our lives, and the recent hurricanes have brought these experiences even closer to our hearts and homes. If you would like to talk about anything without judgment, please reach out to Pastor Erick. His door is always open, and he is ready to listen. You can contact the Church Office or Pastor Erick directly to schedule an appointment.
